Behavior Coach

Asa Adams School is seeking a part-time (.5) Behavior Coach. The behavior coach is responsible for supporting the Tier II social-emotional needs of the school and the students. The coach will work with the MTSS team (including administration, school counselor, instructional coach and classroom teachers) to: identify needs and determine appropriate interventions; support implementation of classroom-based interventions, and provide direct services on an as-needed and team-determined basis. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding of MTSS processes and best practices for behavior and social emotional programming. We are looking for an excellent communicator with strong data analysis skills and an ability to be both self-directed and collaborative.

Choral Teacher


ChoirRSU 26 in Orono is seeking a high-energy choral/performing arts teacher (.8 FTE) to provide guidance and instruction to middle and high school students.  The successful candidate will be creative and passionate about music and the performing arts. Ideal candidates will have experience working with secondary students, the ability to work with a team, and have strong communication and organizational skills; the ability to collaborate with families and colleagues is a must. The teaching load would include a variety of performing arts courses in addition to middle and high school chorus courses, such as Songwriting, Music Theory, Movies & Music and Musical Theater.  The selected candidate will have the opportunity to shape these course offerings and impact the future of our performing arts programming. This position will play an important role in a community with deep commitment to the arts and a brand new, state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center. Additional responsibilities include: choral performances, student preparation for and teacher attendance at district and state festivals. Maine Certification (614) and CHRC are required.

Title 1 Educational Technician III

Student Success/Library ED Tech III

Orono High School is looking for a student-centered, high-energy, and innovative individual to work with high school students as a Student Success/Library Educational Technician III. In this school-year position, the individual will work with faculty and our student information system to identify students-at-risk and establish varied systems of support to address barriers to success. The position will be housed primarily within the library and will have responsibilities for library support and supervision as well.  Student Success responsibilities include (but are not limited to): utilizing PowerSchool data to identify at-risk students; participating in weekly Student Assistance Team meetings; tracking student progress; providing daily support of work completion; and making 504, special education, alternative education, and other service support referrals to Student Assistance Team as necessary. Library responsibilities include (but are not limited to) supervising students, monitoring attendance and assisting with daily library management tasks. 


Current Educational Technician III Authorization from the Maine Department of Education, appropriate certification and CHRC some background with Response to Intervention (RTI) and 

ability to work with students who demonstrate challenging behaviors and academic needs is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds trust and confidence with students.

  • Plans curriculum, lessons, and special ed programs and teaching methods.

  • Maintains the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.

  • Encourage good citizenship.

  • Instructs individuals and groups on Special Ed skill areas.

  • Monitors student progress in and outside of the  life skills room.

  • Modifies curriculum.

  • Maintains contact with parents of students.

  • Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.

  • Prepares report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, 282S Teacher of Students with Disabilities (7-12), or 286 Teacher of Severely Impaired Students (K-12)

 The selected candidate must meet the following qualifications

  • High School Diploma/ Equivalent

  • Ability to work effectively, flexibly, and harmoniously with others including students, staff, and administrators
