Administrative Assistant Special Services


RSU 26 is looking for a key member of the Central Office team to work in the Special Services Department as an Administrative Assistant.  A successful candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. This position requires excellent time management skills and the ability to problem solve effectively. Prior experience as an administrative assistant and experience working with multiple data management programs are preferred. Associate’s Degree preferred. Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) approval is also required. This position is a full-time, year-round position with an hourly pay rate based on experience/qualifications; benefits package included. Position will start in June.

Special Education Teacher Functional Life Skills

RSU26/ Orono Middle School is seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for working withstudents with special needs. You can be an integral part of a dynamic team focused on helping students meet their goals!

This is a full time  beginning in the Fall of 2025 (Potential Summer Opportunities)
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in inclusive programming, positive behavior plans, executive functioning skills, and working with students with multiple disabilities levels of need.
Flexibility is necessary to program for students with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
Ability to collect and utilize academic and behavioral data to drive instruction and daily living skills curriculum
Ability to supervise and collaborate with educational technicians
Current Safety Care Authorization (or can be trained by the district)

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with Maine Certification of Teacher of Students with Disabilities (282) or Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (286)

6th Grade Teacher

Anticipated for 2025-26 School Year

Orono Middle School in Orono, Maine, is seeking a teacher to work with middle level students (6-8).   The position is a classroom teaching position in a positive work environment focused on meeting student needs and accelerating progress. OMS is searching for an excellent communicator with strong classroom management skills.  Candidates will be expected to work as part of a team to engage and motivate middle level learners.  

Appropriate teaching certification and CHRC are required.  Elementary Education Certification (K-6) and/or Math & ELA Certification Preferred
