Administrative Assistant - Asa Adams Elementary

Asa Adams Elementary School is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to serve as the central point of contact for the school community. This role is the face of the school and the first person students, families, staff, and visitors encounter—setting the tone for a welcoming, professional, and responsive environment.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing the daily operations of the main office, ensuring smooth and efficient systems that support students and staff. This includes monitoring and maintaining student data, overseeing school-level fiscal processes, and coordinating communication across the school community. The role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and the ability to remain composed and solution-oriented in a fast-paced setting.

Elementary School Principal

RSU 26 – a district that serves approximately 800 students across three schools in the university town of Orono, Maine – is seeking a full-time principal for Asa C. Adams Elementary School. Asa Adams serves approximately 300 students in grades PK-5. The district is seeking a highly effective building principal to serve dual roles as school administrator and instructional leader.  

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills in dealings with students, parents, and staff, and will be able to establish productive working relationships with community members and other stakeholders. The building principal is responsible for the development and implementation of instructional programming and curricula and for data collection and progress monitoring.  The building principal will be responsible for the evaluation and supervision of approximately 70 staff members and for the building schedule and student activities for the PK-5 program. 

Candidates will hold certification as a building principal (040) and CHRC approval.

High School Math Teacher  

Orono High School is seeking a full-time, dynamic, and student-centered educator to join our math faculty to work with students in grades 9-12. The ideal candidate is passionate about mathematics and enjoys empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to thrive in a world where adaptability, critical thinking, and quantitative literacy are essential for success.

The course assignment for this position could include teaching classes such as AP Statistics, Statistics, Geometry, and/or Algebra. Training for AP Statistics will be provided for the right candidate. 

Maine educator certification in Mathematics (300) is preferred, but other certified/certifiable candidates with aptitude for subject matter and willingness to pursue mathematics certification will also be considered.
