Orono High School is searching for a long-term substitute for a full-time position teaching classes in Health and Physical Education. Specifically, the course load for this teaching assignment involves two sections of PE Adventures, two sections of Outdoor Education, and two sections of Health. Candidates who feel confident with some elements of this load but who would need support in others are encouraged to apply. The position is expected to begin in late January and will run for 12 weeks.
The candidate should be able to perform the following:
- Support a collaborative classroom community
- Effectively communicate with students, build their trust, motivate them, and understand their needs
- Work cooperatively with parents and other teachers
Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A. required
Eligibility for teacher (7 – 12) certification from the Maine Department of Education preferred but not required
